Quote from: gman47564 on April 22, 2024, 10:02:28 AMNot sure if I brought this up on here or not but I lost my mom in November.. diagnosed with cancer in October.. 3 weeks later was gone.. it's tough man and I feel your pain.. dying is a part of living though.. I'm thankful my mom didn't have to endure months of pain and agony and know she and your dad are in a better place..

I remember you bringing it up Grant then Grant but again my condolences.

Exactly, I debate and argue a lot of things but mostly it's just sharing what I feel works for me.

Tuning has gone well, I'm still shooting an old barrel but Wyatt and Clayton are on fresh gear.

Wyatt shot a pro match in IA in March, finished mid pack if I remember correctly.

First match ever for Clayton, third match ever and first this season for me is Saturday

Quote from: LeadHammer on April 21, 2024, 11:29:01 PMI am so very sorry to hear.

I understand as I am going through something similar with my dad. He should have died twice but is still with us and out of the hospital after 4 months. It looks like he may be able to go home, hopefully in a month or so, but won't be the same. ( he is in a care home/rehabilitation program now.)

Quote from: gman47564 on April 22, 2024, 05:41:36 AMYou have my condolences dave. Sorry for your loss.

It was a hell of 4-6 weeks, I am glad my brother, Dad and I were together though.

I appreciate that but unfortunately he passed on. My brother and I spent 4 weeks with him in the hospital in Bismarck then got him moved home to a nursing home and he passed there in a little over a day.

Was for the better, he was never going to be happy there and was never going to get good enough to go home.

My brother and I knew it was coming and stayed with him through it.

I debate this all the time LOL and as Jerry alluded to with PR seater on the F Class plate with the indicator on the ram you don't use the depth stop but rather run the ram up until the primer bottoms in the pocket then put a measured amount of preload on the anvil instead of seating to a set depth which will have a varied preload because of inconsistencies in rim thickness, pocket depth and primer cup height. I prefer .003" preload or crush on the anvil.

Many will say it doesn't matter but I feel I've proved to myself it does.

Looks like a nice tool, my question is can you seat to touch or does it require you seat to a depth stop? If you can seat to touch can you apply a measured crush or preload?

This rig and the VTacs got backburnered as well and while it shot decent at 2880ish I started backing it down as well and hit another node at 2830ish then backed it down even more and shot some pretty small stuff in some pretty heavy wind yesterday at 2740-60

Loaded a 600 yd seating ladder and shot these today and 30.6 averaged 2730 on 22 shots with an SD of 10
This is on the Norma 6 BR Norma brass I was bitching about in Chris's thread.

The yellow bull is 2"

Think I'll load it -.009"
Wyatt and a young man who works with him and I will be shooting the WPR Sunrise City Shootout in Sydney MT this coming Saturday.
All 3 6 BRs on 103 VTacs shooting H4350

I'm looking forward to it, then in two weeks (5-11-24) the WPR Sharpshooter Fab Shootout in Williston ND then one week after that the WPR/PRS Minot Meltdown in Minot ND

Shot these off the 40# rest this morning.
Shot the 30.1-.5 ladder and cooled the barrel.
Shot 5 each of 30.0 & 30.4

So I loaded these the 25th of February and my Dad took I'll so I didn't get back to them until the 8th of April, this was still on the 43+ pound rest

2950 - 70 is almost always a node in a BRA shooting 103-106s

Shot the Bat off it this morning, pretty happy with it except is a little too wide for the box I carry it in no matter which way I turn it.
