Did it "old school." Mouth call and factory Stoeger 20 gauge with APEX 8.5 TSS shot. No vest full of my crap. Look like a tinker when I wear it. No decoy.
It was classic. Called him from a long way off. He hung up at 75 yards and was screaming his head off. I got quiet. When he closed to within 40-45  I busted him.10.5 " beard and 1.25 inch spurs. Probably a two year old.

Showed H4350, H1000, H4831sc in stock at 0900 CST.

Picked one up Friday from LGS. 24" octagon barrel. Buckhorn sights that I can see clearly. Will clean the factory funk out of the barrel and start shooting. Something handy to carry in case I bump a hog or coyote.
Impressed by the smooth action and excellent trigger.

Have been loading 6.5 PRC in used Hornady brass for a couple of years now.  No complaints.  Velocity and accuracy.  Keep going back to Long Range Only and Ultimate Reloader recommendations.  ADG.  Ordered 100 from Creedmoor Sports.  Spendy.  The IRS Death Angel passed me over.  Holding 200 new Lapua. 200+100=Quality brass cases till I am gone.

Will be gentle.  350 Legend with 20" barrel.  Might look cute.  Anecdotal around me.  Lots of proper hit deer, lost.  Local joke is the rifle comes with a beagle puppy to track down all the sh*t you are going to cripple.  Had one NIB with eight boxes of ammo I dumped. Not a engineer or ballistics master.  Underpowered cartridge requires a longer barrel in my hillbilly assessment.

Cleared the door and the local witch/insane beotch was encouraging two of my truck driver friends to sue. Somebody? Anybody? For what? The girl Rachel chirpping at check out. Way to familiar with this old hand. Meal was beef tips and gravy. Usually awesome.
Stopped. Jesus said, "Get thee away from here before you get arrested." Drove 20 miles to Pineville. Got Arby's roast beef sammich and a Coke. Came home, three fingers of Makers in the Coke. All is good.

Head hanging low for my earlier f-up not naming Powder Valley with their no HAZMAT deal. Pi**ed away a beautiful Louisiana afternoon chasing deals. Midsouth has a pretty good selection of .264 projectiles. Just a hunter. Grand Slams and Partitions headed my way. Took my lashes and salve and will be a better man.

My friend has been lusting for a left hand 35 Whelen bolt for several years. No joy.  He bought a left hand Savage 110 Storm 30-06 and ordered the Shaw 35 Whelen pre fit kit from Midway.  Put it together last week.  Did the break in and has been shooting at my place.  Impressed.  Getting 3/4 inch groups with factory Remington 200 Core Lokts.  Will tighten it up with reloads.

I am inspired.  Will put together a 358 Win.  Left hand Savage 110 action and a Shilen prefit from Northland.  Ultimate TN hardwoods whitetail slammer.

Pretty good selection.

Hopefully, something will jump up and grab me.  Browning X Bolt 2 looks interesting. Modular stock, improved bolt and trigger. NADA for lefties. Boo! Lots of brothers out here that are right handed but left eye dominant.

Mentioned the Ruger American Gen II's a few weeks back.  A 6.5 PRC in Miss Dianna's future because she loves the Accutrigger/bladed style.

Leupold has some new stuff, but trying to figure out the specs on their website just pisses me off.

Ruger announced GenII yesterday. Standard and Ranch lines. Expanded the caliber choices. 6 CM, 6 ARC and the PRC's coming this spring. It is sinful the number of first generation RA 6.5 CM's I am holding. We are just hunters and the Tupperware guns get it done. See a fire sale/trading binge in my future.

Just now saw on my phone. A couple of hours ago, Bullet Central posted they had Alpha brass. Various calibers.

My fried Jim and I each ordered one of these rifles last January when they were announced at the 2023 SIhot Show. Arrived at LGS last Friday.

Jim picked his up yesterday. I will pick mine up 11 August if I am cleared to drive by surgeon on 10 August.

His first impressions: Solid quality.
4 pound trigger. We will fix with new spring from MCARBO. He cleaned out the factory funk and started break-in. 180 grain factory ELD-M.Fired seven shots total. Took four shots to get close. Last three were touching at 100.

We have everything we need to load 180 Berger Hybrids. Will get serious when I am healed and the weather cools off. Has been 100 or above in central LA for nearly a month. No joy.
