I was running 36.7gr varget, cci200, 136 scenar L's
MV 2640 out of a factory Ruger American 6.5cm.

Could part of the problem be as the gas gun slams into battery there is too little neck tension allowing the bullet to jam into the lands and giving a too sharp pressure rise with primer ignition.  Also can a gas gun bolt be bushed?  I don't know.

Would be easy to unload a bolt chambered round and then measure OAL and inspect for lands impressions on the ogive.
