New guy from Cuomo-stan

I'm Steve from Coumo-stan (NY).  Interested in 6.5 Creedmoor.  Into archery and anything with a trigger.  Like shooting targets- steel plates are favored.   Hunt whitetails and turkey.

Recently diagnosed with DIDS.  Direct Impingement Derangement Syndrome!  Been building Modern Sporting Rifles- of course compliant with Cuomo-stan rules.  Don't you feel Safe?  Have an Aero M5 build in .308.  Thinking about an upper in 6.5 Creedmoor.

.308.and 6.5 CM can use the same Bolt Carrier Group?
Same mags?

Run my .308 upper with a Faxon heavy fluted 18 in with RLGS.

What length barrel for a 6.5 Creedmoor?  This rifle will go to the deer woods.  Would prefer 18 inch but 20 in could work.

Anyways, I am here for an education.  Thanks for letting me in!

Targets, hunting, sleep, repeat!

Welcome Steve, there are some very knowledgeable 6.5 Creedmoor AR guys here. I'm not one of them 😁

As an ex-New Yorker (I left in 1997), I recommend that you move to Free America.

Welcome Steve I feel your pain, from "The Land of Libs" (Illinois)
The 308 is the parent case of the 6.5 Creedmoor, so shouldn't have
any mag or bolt face issues. They are virtually the same length loaded.
If your looking for hunting rifle too, then a 20-22 inch and a thinner contour
to save weight.  People are using 18 inch, but that would be as short as I'd go.

Welcome Steve.  Not a MSR shooter but there are several on this forum.  Enjoy.
If you have the shot, take it.
