I couldn't agree more. The more I read and talk to others, the more I see just how much the gap has narrowed. Unless I was a top 10 or maybe 20 in the country competition shooter I think I'd be totally satisfied with most any barrel that has been mentioned. A lot of separating the cream at the top does have to do with the Smith that does the work. It wasn't this way (or seemed to be this way) 10 years ago. I've got a Rock River Varmint model with a 24" Wilson Bull barrel that constantly shoots 1/2" 10 shot groups with Hornady factory ammo with 53gn boat tail VMax bullets. Go figure.
