Quite a few new members have issues posting on the forum for the first time. This because in order to prevent bots and other idiots from bombarding the forum with SPAM, we require verification of the first 5 posts. After your 5th post, the verification stops automatically. In order for the verification to work, you can't have any popup blockers enabled or you will never see window asking for verification. We know this is inconvenient, but it has helped us tremendously in preventing the forum from getting spammed.
For security reasons, we need to do an unexpected upgrade to the site as soon as possible. I am sure a few things will break, but I will fix them ASAP. The forum portal page may be down for a while, but the forum will continue to be operational. Testing upgrade right now on sandbox.
We will be relocating/moving the server on Tuesday, 9th January 2018 between 9:00PM to 5:00AM EST. We will be moving the server to a new datacenter across the street. You may experience 45-60 minutes of downtime during the move.
Our military just dropped a MOAB (mother of all bombs) in Afghanistan to kill Taliban and ISIS cockroaches hiding in tunnels. To quote Gene Hackman, "By all means sir. Drop that fucker, ...twice." https://youtu.be/z4Yw3qU58w4
The attachment has the tested load data that Alliant has developed for the Creedmoor. As is the case with Alliant load data for most metallic cartridges, these loads are the max loads and need to be reduced by 10% for starting charges.
I worked a load for my RPR. It loves 42.0 gr of H4350. Today for the first time I tried my .308 suppressor on the RPR. I was expecting the POI to change (and it went down), but I was not expecting the bullets to be all over the place. Do you work up loads for both suppressed and not suppressed shooting?
I am not sure what Apple did, but the smileys and post editing function icons are not visible on iOS 10 devices. This is happening on both Safari and Chrome, so it is not a browser issue. We are investigating this problem and will try to get a fix ASAP.
Lately we have seen an increase in traffic from China, Germany, and France. We don't cater to those countries, so I think that traffic has no good intentions. We are also getting a ton of SPAM attempts from the Philippines and hack attempts mostly from Ukraine. With our current host, we can't block 100% of the traffic from specific countries, but last night I found that I can challenge that traffic. In other words, I can make it harder for bots from specific countries to reach the site by challenging them with a math problem. They will have to provide the answer to the problem before getting access to the site. After 5 minutes they will be challenged again. That should stop most of the automated attacks, but it will also make it harder any member in the following countries to reach the site: Ukraine Russia China Philippines North Korea France Germany Croatia India Pakistan Sweden Romania
If you are a member in any of those countries send me a private message and I will see what I can do to let you through.
