I shot in our local NBRSA 600 yard match today.  It was nice to shoot a low key local match...hadn't done that since last March.  I decided to shoot the 6mm Grendel for light gun and the 6mm Dasher for heavy gun.  Well, the Grendel needs more work.  I knew I was not going to be that strong with it since I really didn't have a load finalized for it.  I went in thinking that I was close and loaded a set of loads to try.  Well, that didn't work.  I was dead last on LG.  Then switched to the Dasher for HG and went from last to 1st, with best group and best 3 target score/group.  So between my last place and my 1st place, I finished in the middle overall.   But I must say, the Dasher is a great round.  I found the Bart's Hammer's a great bullet, especially if you take the time to point them.

We have “wasting disease” in our mule deer population which has significantly killed off a lot of our local deer.  Five years ago I would routinely see 10-15 deer a day on my property. Now I see maybe  2-3 every other day. I’m curious if you all have any kind of a disease situation in your whitetail population?
the biggest disease in our whitetail population in northern WI  and northern mn is known as the Canadian wolf! Populations of the wolves have increased while whitetail numbers have decreased at the same magnitude since they were re-introduced in the mid-70s we see sign of them every time we are out including audio & visual. It has made deer that used to just run & stop run for miles now, especially when there is snow on the ground. I've heard the wolves here several times this season also in MN. Lots of fresh sign where Jimmy shot his big one on opening day.
Another big contributor to deer mortality in WI is cad although none has been found in the region where we hunt. The area to the south of us has had cwd verified and baiting was outlawed there. Hunters from areas where baiting was outlawed have moved to our area in the past few years adding additional pressure to the deer we hunt!
We do not use bait because of the ethical concerns. While following legal practices others seem that bending the quantity rules draw large numbers of deer away from our traditional haunts.

Last day in wi! Kyra got a doe, She did last year on the last day also
Yesterday Sawyer got a spoiler almost forked(spork).
Both with gramps finished stocks & gramps reloads.
Both 243s, both heart shots. I finally got to see a deer off the stand this afternoon. It was a buck but fartjeraway than what I was comfortable shooting. At two powerlines down the powerlines think it was 600 yards. My strokemade me late sending in my yearly fees for the gun club where 600 yards is my main reason to go tjere.
If I would have had the practicetherethis search would have shot.
Stroke kind of wrecked everytjing. Watch your cholestral [email protected]
Kyra's bear picture was not supposed to be in this post.

I had a '97 Chevy 3/4 ton long box I used as a snow plow truck. It couldn't pass a repair shop or a gas station, think it was a 460 cu in. When it came time to push snow though, with 1 ton of sand in the bed, real chains on all four, and an 8' Western blade on the front, it was unstoppable. I miss that 'ole girl, my wallet doesn't though :)

Seems like if something breaks and i dont get on it right away and get it fixed it ends up back in the fence row forgotten about.. lol.. i drive this thing around to much for it to end up in the fence row.. lol

That's one of the problems, I've got an 03 Chevy Avalanche with 180k miles that 2 boys dinged up years ago. It's my knock around rig when I'm home. Rides like a car, full crew cab backseat for gear and a decent size bed. There's no real priority to get the two minis running.
If I ever find a decent deal on another avalanche I'll be a buyer!
