Well I finally broke my dry spell hunting here and at wisconsin on Saturday! I used my new creedmoor barrel on my 700 remington to bag a nice fat fork horn which I gave to my blind friend in wisconsin! This buck broke a 4 year dry spell over there and is the first one since my syroke and cancer episode!
This is the second buck I've taken with a 6.5 creedmoor and it did not disappoint! Bang flop and it skidded itself about 10 yards! No need for another shot as it expired within minutes!
Acorns were heavy where it was feeding only about 100 yards
The 140 grain gold dot ripped through a frontal shot and took heart, lungs. Liver and more
Luckily my sons and grandson showed up to field dress and drag it out for me! My 61rst year hunting wisconsin with only about 7 dry years not including years where I took archery deer!

Not a booner but I care nothing about score because hunting is not a competition! This buck certainly has a lot of meaning to me!

Great job Randy - still got the touch!
And the generosity. Taking the game meant a lot to you. Getting the venison meant a lot to your friend, I'm sure. Happy for both of you.

Thanks everyone for the support while I was out of action, I'm still pumped about the buck and am still muzzleloader hunting here at home! I need a little luck to have a dumb one walk through my yard!

I think I can speak for the group on this one and say we couldn't be happier for you. You've come a long way off a big setback and we know it wasn't easy.
