Jim's bow buck was nicee, he is having a banner year. I haven't had one like it for many years, but I'm due!

Randy,
That is a really good, mature deer.  What I am looking for but have not bumped one yet.  Today is a rain out.  Front passing.  A bunch of scrapes got worked night before last so I am renewed.

If you have the shot, take it.

Wayne, kind buck was doing deep grunts before he saw it but not chasing a doe.
I had one in MN  doing a full chase and grunting lightly as he ran after her.
We are in day 2 here but have not seen fresh scrapes yet!
There was big fresh rubs near where Jim bagged this bad boy.
This buck was not near the buck he got with his bow,
I'll post a picture of that one, it weighed 236# field dressed and had a healthy rack at 247 B& C

Things have been moving kind of slow so we tag teamed up on a spot we knew well and surrounded it then approached from several directions.
My grandson Colby  used the savage I put together for him with a weather warrior 260 barrel. 41.8 grains of h5350 pushing a 140 gr. Nosler ballistic tip.
Weighing in at 198 pounds on the race car scales.
Extra point coming off the right brow tine. 150 yards only perfect heart and both lungs.
Turned out being a real good day. We are celebrating right now.

My grandson chase added a spoiler to the buck pole today,
Haven't heard his story yet. Guess he pulled an old school spot & stalk.

Don't miss much, but when I do, it's specf'ntacular.  Clean misses trying to do head/neck shots at 30-40 yards.  Don't do that anymore.
Dad used to get disgusted when butchering with blood shot between the shoulders & rib cage! He said "head or neck shots only!" He was always pleased with a good clean neck shot.
