Reloading / Re: Pressure Signs At Sub Max Load
June 14, 2020, 06:52:21 AM
I think I may have found out the issue....apparently my Hornady gauge that measures the bullet touching the lands gave me a faulty reading so my COAL and BTO measurements were off. My COAL was 2.89 and BTO was 2.24 so the bullet was jammed into the lands....gonna reload those two powder charges and try again, this time with bullets seated deeper. I will report back later.
Thanks for your inputs

Reloading / Pressure Signs At Sub Max Load
June 13, 2020, 04:26:35 PM
HI EVERYONE,
I JUST STARTED WORKING UP SOME LOAD DEVELOPMENT IN MY NEWLY RE-BARRELED 6.5CM...I AM AT JUST UNDER 200 ROUNDS OF FACTORY AMMO THROUGH IT. I'M USING 147 GR ELD-M BULLETS WITH PETERSON VIRGIN BRASS WITH FGMM LARGE RIFLE PRIMERS. TWO DIFFERENT POWDERS H 4350 AND SUPERFORMANCE....I SAW STICKY/HEAVY BOLT AT 43.9G OF SUPERFORMANCE WITH VELOCITY AVG 2775FPS AND ON HODGDON'S WEBSITE IT SAYS MAX LOAD OF 45.2...AND SAW THE SAME USING H4350 40.9G WITH VELOCITY AVG 2740 WTH HODGDON SAYING 41.8 MAX LOAD....BOTH WITH SD OF 7.6...I AM RUNNING A THUNDERBEAST ULTRA 9-6.5 CB SUPPRESSOR...COULD IT BE NECK TENSION ON THE VIRGIN BRASS OR SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY???

May 11, 2020, 04:02:24 PM
Hi Guys,
I've been out of the reloading game for about a year, and can't find my load data for 147gr eld-m's using H4350.
I'm running a 26" HH Custom with a 1:7.5 Twist....but am also going to be re-barreling my TL-3 with a Proof CF at 24" with a 1:8, so any of your guides are greatly appreciated

Bolt Action Rifles / Re: MDT ACC Chassis
November 20, 2019, 08:26:51 AM
Quote from: DDRH65CM on November 19, 2019, 01:25:55 PMSorry don't have experience, but i really like the way the chassis looks.  and a folder too!  pls let us know how it is if possible (NDA?)  Weight for the folder would be nice too.  I'm currently running KRG Whiskey 3 folder and with added accessories, it probably weighs ~5lbs.
I am running a JAllen chassis now. MDT is taking over JAllen's production. I, being an FFL/SOT, was the only one in the U>S to have a JAllen in stock for MDT to use for their future production, so they sent me two of their most popular chassis. The ACC and the LSS XL Gen 2...getting them today

Reloading / Re: SMK 150 Grain 6.5 CM
January 08, 2019, 02:39:36 PM
This is my setup. 1:7.5 twist 26" Hawk Hill Bighorn TL3, and specifically throated for these longer bullets. They are seated at .020 off the lands. I am going to possibly seat them out a bit...maybe to .010 but at .020 I had no pressure signs on the highest 44 gr superformance that got me to 2790

Reloading / SMK 150 Grain 6.5 CM
January 08, 2019, 09:08:22 AM
Has anyone been reloading with the new SMK 150's? I was out the other day with my first attempts with them, and had decent SD's and velocities starting at 42 grains of superformance with .5 grain increments up to 44 Grains which got me to 2790FPS with an SD of 11. I plan on going up to 45 grains, but my groups were awful at 100. It could have been me, the wind, and the fact that my battery on my magneto was about to die. I was rushing.
Thoughts/Help will be well received.
Thanks.

Reloading / Re: SMK 150 GR LOAD DATA
December 13, 2018, 02:51:55 PM
I am running a 26" 1:7.5 HH custom barrel. I have run the 147's to death...I had it throated to specifically run the longer 150's. I am just wondering if there is any other load datas out there other than what was available back in August. I am seeing Superformance at 46.6 Grains at the top end pushing 2800fps, but would like to see some other data

Reloading / QUICK LOAD HELP
June 10, 2018, 08:40:18 AM
If anyone has quick load, and the time, could somebody run a scenario for me? I am using a new powder RL-26 in my 6.5 creed. I have a 26" 1:7.5 twist barrel. I am running the 147 grain ELD-M's. I am curious as to where I might see pressure. My base to ogive is 2.193 and my COAL is 2.83. I am using Alpha brass which has a thickness of .015 and is similar to Lapua and a smaller case capacity than Hornady. The h20 case capacity is 50.1gr filled to the top. I hope I've provided the necessary info. I am considering quick load but I'm running a MAC and not a PC so I will eventually have to do all the computer conversions to run windows
