Going back to the BRA vs the 6.5x47L imp. helped but I honestly didn't give the 47L an honest testing at 1000 last year in MO in those conditions either.

You indicate maybe not a fair comparison. I agree for many reasons. Your shooting has improved. Your reloading has improved with the addition of the changes you made last winter. Your load for the 47L simply was not on point last year. Multiple factors.

I think you know I'm working on that combo. Got the red and the blue. The white one comes next as a heavy.

Best part of that match are the memories you carry home. I hated missing it.

When applied and maintained correctly cerakote can't be beaten for cost effective firearm protection.

Dave did himself proud today. I'm sure he will explain when he gets a chance to post.

Well Huffman is going to be too modest to toot his own horn so I'll do it for him. Dave is sitting in second place in both group and score at the Rendezvous. I am so proud of him- that is one hell of an accomplishment! 👍 Way to go buddy!

Quote from: autoxforfun on June 16, 2022, 08:12:57 PMDave, I saw the results on Accurate Shooter.....you're doing well.  That is a long list of competitors....wow.  We're cheering for you from afar.

Same competitors from last year pretty much. They are the national cream of the crop with just a few exceptions. Dave is ahead of last year's 600 and 1000 yard national champion.

Reloading / Re: chronograph recommendation

MagnetoSpeed and LabRadar. The LR is difficult to find to purchase.
The MagnetoSpeed is very accurate and least expensive of the two, but it will change the point of impact of bullets on target since it affects barrel harmonics. The MS is also the easiest to use when shooting prone. The LR is also very accurate, does not change POI, but requires a stable platform to function. I prefer the MS when shooting prone and the LR off the bench.
Since you do NOT need a chrono to develope a load for your rifle, you can get by with a MS to check velocity after your load is developed.

I don't think you received a "welcome" with you first post last March. 😱

Sorry for the oversight!!
Hope you find our comments on your neck ID helpful. If not let us know. We will see what else we can come up with.
Welcome!

If your fired case neck ID is truly 0.262", then your chamber throat is too small or your brass neck wall thickness is too great. You can not accurately measure you r ID with calipers - use a pin gauge.

Suggestion:
Measure the neck OD on a loaded round. Then measure the neck OD on a fired case. The difference in diameter should be at least 3-4 thousandths.

If your neck ID doesn't open to at least 0.264, during ignition your chamber pressure is going to be off the wall - unsafe.

Howdy Jackal and welcome.
What part of Australia are you in?
Are you doing any PRS type shooting with your Creedmoor?
