August 24, 2016, 03:59:11 PM
Anyone have a source for these.  I cannot find them but at one place and holey moley!  they want 2X the price of the place that are sold out.

This is the bullet used in the Prime 130 loadings.

Thanks,

Couple of week ago.  If you get the chance, you HAVE to shoot at this range.  The electronic scoring i just the cat's meow!

I'll try to attach some pictures.

General Discussion / Magazines
May 15, 2016, 02:02:56 PM
Well, the RPR platform is pretty much mature and we've seen the "enhanced" RPR released.  I would like to ask what magazines you have tried and what worked and what you liked.

I have stuck with the PMags, but would like to begin exploring a bit longer OAL for the different bullets I load.  I freely admit to being lax in following the experiences related to alternate magazines and now find that I am paying the price for that laxity.

What have you tried and what do you like?

Thanks,

Competition / Steel Match Saturday Different format
March 13, 2016, 08:30:35 AM
12 targets 500-700 yards.  Known distance, but three shots each.  Left array:  three horizontally placed targets, plus two running up a hill.  Right array:  five horizontally placed targets, two running up the hill.  Winds gusts to 10 mph, switching constantly, but only for the first two hundred yards.  Quiet zone in front of the targets.  No time limit, but I shot during conditions I could handle and got only 80% of my hits.  Good Fun.

What velocity are you seeing?

I shot five to check speeds and cannot find my data.

Competition / Saturday Unknown Distance Match

Only 12 targets, but I cleaned them all first shot.

The RPR made it very easy.

Got to love this rifle!

Reloading / Smk 142 6.5 Cm Ocw Run Today
December 21, 2015, 03:42:37 PM
42.5 - 43.4 Gr H4350.  43.4 too hot, ejector swipe and sticky bolt on the one round.  Retired the other two.  Looks like the 43 - 43.1 gr range has good potential for this bullet.  43 Gr 2792 fps/SD - 9.5/ES 18 for three rounds.  .297 MOA for a three round group.  Onward to accuracy testing with this load.  Hornady brass/Wolf LRP.  Seated about mag length 2.81".

Work up for your rifle please and be safe.

Competition / Hybrid steel match today
December 12, 2015, 01:08:08 PM
Good times! Unknown distance targets and time limit for engagement.

Three pits: each pit at a different distance, three pieces of steel in each pit. 24" silhouette, two diamonds; 10" and 8".

Additional target (24" silhouette) beyond the pit on the hill side at a different range. 12 targets total.

They let us all get down and mil the targets at the same time before we shot.

That helped a great deal. I was able to get the mil measurements and then sit down and calculate distances and settings in a reasonably calm manner.

Hit all 12 targets , but it took me 4 rounds over the limit (15 rounds) to do so. Did not time out on any series.

First series: 4/4, second, 4/9, third, 4/6 shots.

Had a terrible time with my cheek weld and finding the exit pupil on the scope. Lots of head bobbing involved.

Should have finished upper middle of the pack.

Fun times!

Reloading / H4350 And Smoke
October 20, 2015, 07:51:05 AM
Has anyone notice that H4350 is a particularly smokey powder?

One of the guys on the line at that last match complained about the amount of smoke my rifle was generating.  It was very calm, so no wind to blow the smoke off, but I thought that it was quite a bit of smoke as well.

42.6 Gr with a Berger 130 Hybrid.

Your experiences?

Thanks,
