I am so very sorry to hear.

I understand as I am going through something similar with my dad. He should have died twice but is still with us and out of the hospital after 4 months. It looks like he may be able to go home, hopefully in a month or so, but won't be the same. ( he is in a care home/rehabilitation program now.)

Quote from: DHuffman on April 21, 2024, 01:05:04 PMShot the Bat off it this morning, pretty happy with it except is a little too wide for the box I carry it in no matter which way I turn it.

Dang, new box time.

Quote from: gman47564 on April 18, 2024, 06:56:03 PMWell I'm not going to be able to shoot in the factory class after this next match.. I ordered me a Lilja 26" match chambered straight contoured barrel for my 457 yesterday.. might as well play with the heavy hitters if I'm gonna play..

I think with Lilja, you can get shims to adjust headspace on the 457.

I had posted this pic before I think but it suits this thread.
I am lucky at our range that probably 90% of the time I am the only one at 300 meters.  The best is out in the field of course as in this pic, since the rifle is even quieter without the overhead roof bouncing sound waves all over. 90 deg first port is a must.

It's possible if you hang out in the blast zone I would think. Also having your face on the stock for many many rounds may do it.
I feel more blast shooting into the wind with no ear plugs with my .17HMR than with my 6.5 w/brake and muffs.

Loaded up some more seating test rounds and went to the range yesterday. I need to retest two depths plus go deeper 3 and 6 thou.
This was the best group. Tuner remains unturned. 328 yards

Quote from: autoxforfun on April 13, 2024, 04:54:47 PMGround Squirrels are big right now.  A number of my buddies know ranchers that will let them shoot as long as they can.  They claim they kill hundreds.....and they just got tired of shooting.

These two fields in the past 5 years have probably produced 5000 gophers minimum. Not even kidding. It is just finally slimmer pickings. The rancher is happy.

Not judging, any nuisance creature needs pew pew.
I see lots shoot and or hunt frogs someplace down there too. Interesting.

I would shoot a lot more HMR if the ammo price was not insane.
