I'm putting on a new barrel this weekend.  Just wanted to know what kind of "grease" to put on the barrel threads?

Any solid anti-seize will work. I have used lithium based grease and copper products directly marketed to prevent seizing of barrel threads, but I have not removed any barrels yet... other than my SBR's 10.5" after converting it back to DI because the "piston pop" of the gas system pretty much negated the effect of suppressing the firearm. The copper anti-seize worked fine in that application.

I don't really worry much about the dissimilar metal and galvanic bond in ARs because the barrel nut and upper are never that same material, ime. Honestly, I'd be fine putting a couple drops of gun oil on the threads and torquing down the nut 3 times to season the threads.
Silence is golden. Duct tape is silver.
I have a lot of guns... There, I said it.

One of the most commonly recommended "lubricants" by firearm manufacturers (especially those building AR types) is Aeroshell 33.

You can get small containers of it on Amazon.

This is what is "Mil Spec" supposedly and what I use for putting on barrels, receiver extensions, and such.

I put standard Pro Gold gun grease. Nothing special and works fine.
