Difficulties posting pictures

We are aware of the frustration some of you have because there is no easy way to post pictures on this forum. We can't host pictures on a free forum. It will exponentially increase our storage space and bandwidth usage, and that comes with a cost. We tried a photo gallery on our forum for just the donators, but it was harder to use than hosting the pictures somewhere else. This forum no longer makes money on Google ads. People use ad blockers, and Google is becoming more and more sensitive about the content of our forum. When they find content they don't like they stop displaying ads. We have not received a payment from Google in about 4 months, and we are considering removing Google ads completely. Even on the largest gun forum on the Internet (ar15.com) you must host your pictures somewhere else, that includes the members that pay for a subscription. This forum runs because of the support of our donators, and the moderators that volunteer their time to keep this place civil. We understand your frustration, but we don't have many options. I would like to suggest that the members that know how to use picture hosting services, please write a post about the service that you use and basic instructions on how you link your pictures here. Please start a new post on the General Discussion board and we will pin the post to the top so everyone can see it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Some of you guys seem more knowledgeable & experienced in this more than the rest of us.

If you have a workable solution let's talk about. In that new thread on the General forum.

Thanks
Dave

It looks like there is a way to help streamline adding in photos but still have them hosted on postimage.com. See link below for a description and also links to add in code for SMF.

Good find! Looking into that right now.

Whatever solutions are offered, it will be important that there is a viable pathway for android and apple smartphones. Most folks don't carry a computer around with them.

Postimage is now enabled on the forum. Here is a test with small previews.

Awesome and fast work there! That should make it easier for a lot of folks.

Here is another test with large previews. I like this setting better.

Postimage works great, the only side effect I am noticing is that after posting it returns to the topics. I will provide feedback to the developers.
